TOPEKA, Kansas -- Kansas should not be giving in-state tuition to people here illegally, supporters of a Senate bill on illegal immigration told lawmakers Wednesday.
"How in good conscience can the state of Kansas charge a U.S. citizen from another state higher out-of-state tuition rates while granting in-state rates to someone who is here illegally?" asked Ralph Snyder, legislative chairman for the American Legion Department of Kansas.
