TEXAS -- Harris County sheriff’s deputy Craig Miller was laid to rest following funeral services this afternoon at Katy’s Second Baptist Church
Law enforcement officers from across Texas came to pay their respects to Miller, a 20-year-veteran of the department who was killed Thursday night when his undercover sport utility vehicle was involved in an accident on the Katy Freeway service road near Mason Road.
Inside the church, a crowd estimated at over 1,000 people paid tribute to the fallen deputy. His wife and son praised Miller as a devoted father and spouse.
Miller’s wife Michelle said that the family would get through the loss by relying on family, friends and faith. Son Avery called his dad “awesome.”
