DEMING, Texas -- A 27-year-old man in whom Texas authorities have interest regarding the aggravated sexual assault of a child was arrested Thursday night by Deming-based U.S. Border Patrol agents.
Froylan Velazco, who used the alias Manuel Moncada-Garcia, was with four illegal immigrants agents intercepted in the desert at 9:30 p.m. Group members tried to conceal themselves in the brush 20 miles west of the Columbus Port of Entry, the USBP reported Friday afternoon, but were apprehended and taken to the Columbus Processing Center for questioning.
Fingerprints identified Moncada-Garcia as Velazco. Records showed a possible warrant from Fort Worth and a criminal history with a Tarrant County, Texas, arrest for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
