SOUTH CAROLINA -- Seven illegal aliens were among a group busted on federal counterfeiting charges after investigators say they tried to pass counterfeit payroll checks in South Carolina.
22-year old Javier Lopez of Greenville is one of the accused who is named in the indictment. The maximum penalty each defendant faces is a fine of $250,000 and ten years in prison.
This case is being investigated by agents of the United States Secret Service and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
