Taneytown, MARYLAND: Council to hear plans for illegals

TANEYTOWN, Maryland -- The Taneytown councilman who got a resolution passed last year to make English the city’s official language is planning to bring another immigrant-related resolution to the Taneytown City Council meeting Wednesday.

Councilman Paul Chamberlain Jr. has drafted the “City of Taneytown Is Not a Sanctuary for Illegal Aliens” resolution, which he said he hopes will show that Taneytown is willing to hold up all laws, including federal immigration laws that are easy to ignore.

“If we’re going to allow lawbreakers to live in our city, why have a police force?” Chamberlain said. “We want to make it clear that illegals are not welcome in our city.”
