GUILFORD COUNTY, North Carolina -- State police said the man charged with crashing into two parked cars on Interstate 40/85 Sunday morning is an illegal alien.
Investigators said Jose Balderas has yet to produce a photo ID, and will not be released from jail until he provides one. Balderas reportedly told investigators he has been living in Washington, D.C. for the past seven months.
