DENVER, Colorado -- A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit filed by the state alleging the federal government has failed to do enough to stop illegal immigration.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Babcock dismissed the lawsuit today. Federal attorneys had argued that the lawsuit should be scuttled, saying the courts can't tell the president or Congress how to do their jobs.
