Laughlin AFB, TEXAS: Mexico off limits to military personnel (Threats Directed at U.S. Military)

Laughlin AFB, Texas -- Col. Mike Minahan, 47th Flying Training Wing commander at Laughlin AFB, has placed the border areas of Mexico, including Ciudad Acuņa, Piedras Negras, Juarez and Nuevo Laredo, off limits to all military personnel beginning April 12.

In a news release base spokesmen said the action was taken to help ensure the welfare and safety of Laughlin personnel due to increased criminal activities and threats in Mexico, some apparently directed at the U.S. military.
