Mobile, ALABAMA: Count added in transporting of illegal aliens (Wendy Transportation in Houston, TEXAS)

MOBILE, Alabama -- A federal grand jury in Mobile this week added another count of transporting an illegal alien against a transportation company driver whose overloaded van was stopped on Interstate 10.

Luciano Alvarez-Meraz now stands accused of two counts of the offense.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Darryl Atchison declined to say why prosecutors presented the new charge to the grand jury.
