Shelbyville, TENNESSEE: Illegal Aliens Charged With Creating Fake IDS (Identity Theft)

The Daily Herald

SHELBYVILLE, Tennessee -- A Columbia man was arrested with a Shelbyville man on charges of producing fake Social Security cards, identification cards and Tennessee driver licenses and selling them to illegal immigrants in the state.

David Gonzalez, 135 Sunset Lane, was arrested at his residence and was accused by the Secret Service and Shelbyville Police Department of making thousands of fake documents.

Julian Jiminez was arrested in Shelbyville.

Both men are illegal immigrants, Shelbyville Police Sgt. Jason Williams said.

U.S. Secret Service agents confiscated computers and printing equipment from Gonzalez’s home.

While Gonzalez allegedly manufactured the cards, Jiminez allegedly arranged the sale and distribution, agents said.

Williams said some of the cards had real identities and Social Security numbers.

“They were stealing IDs and reproducing legitimate-looking Social Security cards,” Williams said. “Many were distributed in Shelbyville.”
