SOMERVILLE, New Jersey -- A borough man was arrested Tuesday on charges of practicing dentistry without a license in his apartment, according to an arrest affidavit.
Ignacio Alberto Ortiz, 41, of 140 Fairview Ave. was charged with third-degree unauthorized practice of medicine, Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne J. Forrest said.
Investigators found Ortiz's apartment fully equipped with dental instruments such as a drill, picks, scrapers, heat gun, tooth scrubber and mirrors.
Ortiz, whom police said is an illegal alien from Paraguay, told the undercover investigator "that his practice is exclusively limited to undocumented aliens," Forrest said.
