As I told the Saint Petersburg Times a few days ago, I remain absolutely opposed to the Visa Waiver Program, which in my judgment creates an unacceptable vulnerability for our nation. Terrorists could, in fact, exploit the program to enter our country and do their dirty work, which could kill hundreds or thousands of Americans, or maybe more.

While much attention has been paid to our porous borders, especially our border with Mexico, it is estimated that as many as 40 percent of the illegal aliens currently in the United States came to our country through ports of entry.
