SALEM, Oregon -- Though the topic of illegal immigration hasn't had much prominence in the early stages of the legislative session, Oregon lawmakers say they know it's an issue that can't be ignored.

Republicans have introduced several bills targeting illegal immigration, but Democrats, who now control both houses, have made issues such as children's health care and alternative energy a greater priority.
