CONCORD, North Carolina -- County Commissioner Coy Privette is pushing an English-only resolution for the county.
The resolution, if passed, would make English the county’s official language and all county business would have to be conducted in English.
“This would say to those folks, ‘You have a moral obligation to learn English,’ ” Privette said. “This primarily says that if you’re going to be living in community and working in this community, then you better speak English.”
