Southern CALIFORNIA company to face criminal charges amid illegal immigration probe (Golden State Fence Co.)

SAN DIEGO, California -- For seven years, a Southern California fence-building company has been under the microscope for allegedly hiring illegal immigrants. Now, the company is landing in criminal court.

Golden State Fence Co. was scheduled to be arraigned on criminal charges at 9 a.m. Thursday in San Diego, said to Christine Friedman, clerk for a federal judge hearing the case. Also being arraigned were Melvin Kay, Golden State's president and founder, and Michael McLaughlin, another company executive.
