Colorado -- A preliminary hearing has been set for the man accused of dragging his girlfriend behind a vehicle to her death. During a Dec. 21 hearing, which is expected to last at least a day, prosecutors will present 1,292 pages of evidence they have against 36-year-old Jose Luis Rubi-Nava, a former landscape and fast-food worker from Glendale.
Rubi-Nava waived his right to a speedy trial while he was formally advised of the first-degree murder charge against him Sept. 25 at the Robert A. Christensen Justice Center in Castle Rock. He is also charged with second-degree kidnapping, two counts of forgery and one count of possession of a forged instrument.
