Tulsa, Oklahoma -- A policy prohibiting city contractors, subcontractors and lower-tier subcontractors from hiring illegal workers was approved unanimously Thursday by the City Council.

"We're only asking for people to play by the same rules and be fair," said Councilor Bill Christiansen, who spearheaded the resolution. "The city needs to set this example for all of the other employers out there to follow."
