Hospital also bracing for more uninsured, illegal immigrants seeking chronic care for cancer and high-risk pregnancy
Atlanta, Georgia -- Grady Memorial Hospital says it's seeing twice as many patients this year seeking treatment for chronic kidney problems, and attributes the increase to the national effort to clamp down on illegal immigration.
Grady Health System, the state's largest public hospital, expected to have 8,152 dialysis visits by the end of August, but the actual number is 9,721, 19 percent above that projection.
