NEW CITY, New York -- A Rockland grand jury yesterday indicted a 20-year-old Spring Valley man accused of holding a knife to a 9-year-old girl's back during a Hillcrest home break-in.
The panel charged Emerson Daniel Martinez-Salas of 138 Union Road with multiple felony counts of robbery, burglary and possessing stolen property.
Martinez-Salas, who was charged in April with falsely telling police he was raped, was arrested at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday outside a Longridge Court house.
He is accused of breaking into the house. When confronted by those living there, Martinez-Salas is accused of threatening a 30-year-old woman with a kitchen knife and putting the knife to a child's back, Ramapo police said.
