Palm Bay, Florida -- Palm Bay could become the first Florida city to crack down on illegal immigration as it moves next week to hear a reworked version of an ordinance that seeks to penalize employers of unauthorized workers.
On Thursday, the City Council will have a second hearing on the ordinance that has sparked criticism from immigration advocates, Hispanic groups, churches and some businesses. After the hearing, the council will likely schedule a vote on the ordinance.
