WHEELING — Three illegal aliens working on a construction site in Clinton Hills were taken into custody Friday, according to Ohio County Sheriff Tom Burgoyne.
The men were turned over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service in Pittsburgh.
Two of the men, bothers Jamie and Orlando Cordoza, were subsequently released and returned to the Red Roof Inn in St. Clairsville, where they were staying, Burgoyne said. The third man, Alviro Mireles, 39, was taken away in handcuffs for processing by federal agents, he said.
The federal agents determined the Cordoza brothers were previously processed and identified as illegal aliens in Virginia, Burgoyne said.
The arrests came late Friday morning after a citizen reported the possibility of illegal aliens working at a housing construction site in Clinton Hills in Triadelphia, Burgoyne said.
Deputies, he said, determined the three men were working for a Virginia firm, which was working as a subcontractor installing cable service for Comcast.
