SPRINGVILLE, New York -- A pre-dawn raid Friday resulted in the arrest of 29 illegal Mexican immigrants who were employed at a western New York nursery, federal officials said.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers made the arrests as the workers left their housing complexes and were boarding buses to go to work for Schichtel's Nursery in Springville and West Valley in southern Erie and Cattaraugus counties.
Five other alleged illegal immigrants were arrested late Thursday.
