Men Sentenced to Five Years in Chinese Immigrants Smuggling Case

LOS ANGELES -- Two men who smuggled themselves and 17 other Chinese immigrants into the United States by hiding in a shipping container for 25 days were each sentenced Monday to five years in prison.

Jian Rong Tan, 36, and Wen Hsue Chang, 41, were convicted last May on federal charges including bringing illegal immigrants into the U.S. for financial gain and harboring illegal immigrants.
