West Chicago -- An elderly couple was brutally beaten as they fed birds at a west suburban apartment complex over the weekend. David Martinez-Villareal is now charged in connection with the attack.
The woman remains hospitalized in critical condition. The suspect was arrested within minutes of the attack on Sunday morning. The beating took place in the 800-block of Main Street in West Chicago.
