OTIS, Massachusetts -- Two Brazilian men are being held at the Berkshire House of Corrections as federal detainees after they were discovered during a traffic stop on New Year's Day.
Massachusetts State Police officers were conducting speed enforcement on Route 8 in Otis shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday when they stopped a car for speeding.
Inside were four Brazilian men traveling here from the Newark, N.J., area. State Police asked for their identifications, and the operator of the car presented the troopers with a Florida driver's license. A check of the license with Florida authorities showed that it was an illegal document.
