International News: European Leaders May Alter Policy After French Riots

The rioting that has convulsed France for two weeks may be a ``wake-up call'' to other European governments to review policies toward their own immigrant populations, researchers and officials said.

Belgium was hit by more car-torchings overnight, the interior ministry said. Fifteen cars were burned in the cities of Antwerp, Lokeren, Mechelen, Ledeberg and Brussels, the ministry said today in an e-mail. The news agency Belga reported three Molotov cocktails were thrown in the Brussels region and three in the town of Trivieres, 48 kilometers (30 miles) from Brussels near the French border, without causing major damage.
