The nation's top immigration official admits that there's lots of public frustration over illegal immigrants, and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff says the federal government must step up its border security efforts.
Chertoff says a major security update is in the works that will go far beyond anything anyone has seen so far.
Chertoff's plan comes on the heels of two border governors declaring a state of immigration emergency.
Here in Arizona, Governor Janet Napolitano has declared Pima County one of four counties with 'immigration emergencies. $1.5 million will go toward law enforcement.
