Perhaps the most shocking aspect of the terrorist attacks on the London transit system was not that the perpetrators were connected to fanatical Muslim extremists.
It was that they were homegrown terrorists, longtime British residents.
The reality is that more and more of these budding killers live among us from London and Berlin to New Jersey and even Georgia — where some of the Sept. 11 attackers temporarily resided. They pose an enormous threat because they refuse to embrace our economic, political and social values.
