WASHINGTON — Several hundred noisy protesters (Illegal Aliens) gathered on the front lawn of President Bush's chief political adviser Karl Rove on Sunday to demand administration support for a bill being considered in Congress that would help alien minors ((Illegal Aliens) receive residence status.
The demonstrators — part of a group called the National People's Action, which advocates for a variety of issues and often goes to individuals' homes for protests — surrounded Rove's house and banged on the windows, sparking an angry response from the administration's cool operator.
At one point, Rove yelled for the group to get off his property. D.C. Police and Secret Service agents soon arrived.
The protesters say they plan to keep up their demonstrations if Rove and the president continue to dismiss their call for educational opportunities for immigrants (Illegal Aliens). Protesters told Fox News that they targeted Rove because he "has the ear of the president."
The protesters want Bush to support the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act. The DREAM Act would allow immigrants (Illegal Aliens) to apply for legal resident status if they have lived here for five years — albeit illegally — and earned a high school diploma. It would also make it easier for undocumented student immigrants (again, Illegal Aliens) to be eligible for in-state college tuition.
