NACO - Authorities on Thursday were investigating the killing of an off-duty Border Patrol agent who was beaten to death in Mexico with a 50-pound boulder, officials said.
Two men were in custody and three others were being sought, said Susan Herskovits, an FBI spokeswoman in Phoenix.
She said the FBI was assisting the investigation being led by Mexican state and federal police.
Herskovits said the agent's body was found about 40 miles south of the border.
The agent's name was not being released Thursday pending notification of family.
